Jacquemart-Andre Museum in Paris presents a large retrospective exhibition
“Joseph Mallord William Turner. Paintings and watercolors from the collection of the Tate Gallery ».
Thanks to the participation of the unique collection of the Tate Gallery, visitors can see more than a dozen paintings and 60 Turner's watercolors, some of which have never been exhibited in France.
Joseph Mallord William Turner - the largest representative of the golden age of English watercolor, amazingly conveying the effects of light and transparency in the image of English landscapes and Venetian lagoons. This exhibition reveals the role that watercolors played in Turner's life and work, from the early works that he sent to the Royal Academy, to the exciting light and colorful experiments of his maturity. For a modern audience, this is an opportunity to get acquainted with the most striking and perfect works of the artist. A chronological “visual journey” based on the artist’s paintings will allow you to follow his artistic evolution step by step: from youthful works of a certain topographical realism to works of his maturity, more radical and perfect, fascinating light and colorful experiments.
