Hungarian National Gallery Presents New Exposition“The art of the XIX century. From the era of reform to the turn of the century ”.

Visitors will see about 150 paintings, 40 sculptures, 40 medals and 33 artifacts, including well-known masterpieces and previously unexhibited exhibits.

The XIX century is the great period of the birth of national art, the development of the main art institutions - museums, academies, exhibitions, art awards, art criticism, and the professional press. The exposition includes paintings by Istvan Ferenczi, Pal Szinei Merce, Miklos Izso, Miklos Barabas, Bertalan Szekeli, Victor Madarash and other iconic artists working in the style of romanticism, Biedermeier, realism.
