Exhibition June 22 − December 30, 2020
Hungarian National Gallery holds an exhibition“Nude. Nude sculptures at the turn of the century.

The exposition presents sculptural works made of white marble, among which are the masterpieces of Fyulop, Sigmond Kishfaludi Strobl, Miklos Ligeti, Odon Moyret, Jozsef Ron and Szilard Shedi.

The term "Nude art" originally refers to the studied or sketchy image of a figure, pose, movement of a naked or dressed model, and then gradually became a designation of a naked human body. The period presented at the exhibition (late XIX - early XX centuries) was characterized by the coexistence of historical, antique and modern aspirations. Examples of each concept can be found among exhibits such as research, allegorical or symbolic nudity.Auguste Rodin(1840-1917) was the most significant innovator of sculpture at the end of the century. The influence of the French master is also felt in some of the examples of sculptural works.
