James Tissot (1836-1902), modern and controversial

Musee d'Orsay presents an exhibition"James Tissot (1836-1902), modern and ambiguous".

The exhibition will be the first large retrospective of the artist in Paris since 1985 and is dedicated to the complex, ambiguous personality of the author.

The emphasis not only on works, but also on the figure of James Tissot, aims to consolidate the art of this artist in the artistic and social context of his time. The exhibition will present the artist with both his traditional works and bold experiments and studies, and will demonstrate the author’s desire to express himself in various techniques, including print, enamel, photographs.
