Roman republic. The evolution of art of five centuries

The Capitoline Museum of Rome in the halls of Palazzo Caffarelli organizes an exhibition“The Roman Republic. The evolution of art of five centuries ".

The exposition will present masterpieces of marble, bronze and terracotta sculptures, silver art objects, cycles of marble bas-reliefs and images that describe a stylistically innovative period in the era of the development of ancient Rome.

The illustrated period covers more than five centuries until 31 AD, describes the evolution of Roman art, the development of aesthetic taste and the strengthening of the prestige of the ruling elite through the support of the creators of masterpieces that have existed for more than two millennia.
