The Stedelek Museum, Amsterdam organizes an exhibition
“In the presence of absence. Museum Collection Offers ».
The exhibition will present the works of more than two dozen contemporary artists who will compile a selection of works of art that challenge the idea of collective knowledge and public consciousness through stories that remain invisible to viewers and ignored by society.
The works of the exhibition will occupy 15 halls of the museum and present the concept of raising the question “How is history written?”. The works touch upon personal, intimate, painful and controversial socio-historical themes. The title of the exhibition is inspired by the title of the last book written by the poet Mahmoud Darwish.
