National Gallery in Prague presents a large-scale exhibition
“1796–1918: The Art of a Long Century”.
The exposition comprised more than 450 works of 150 artists and sculptors, illustrating thematic chapters. Paintings form sections of Man, Peace, Idea, sculptures - Architecture, Monument, Tombstone.
The exhibition harmoniously combines domestic and foreign art, illustrates their mutual influence, presents a detailed historical and artistic review of various styles, concepts and genres of the 19th century. At the exhibition there are not only artists of different artistic views, but also representatives of different generations: Joseph Manes next to Pablo Picasso, Joseph Navratil next to Bohumil Kubishta and Antonio Canov next to Franz von Stuck.
