Matisse Metamorphoses

The Matisse Museum in Nice in conjunction with the Kunsthaus, Zurich hosts an exhibition"Metamorphoses of Matisse".
The exhibition presents about 90 paintings, drawings and sculptures by one of the greatest artists of the first half of the 20th century, created in the period 1900-1950.
Despite the fact that painting is the main form of creative self-expression of Matisse, his sculptures go hand in hand with paintings and are one of the separate areas of study of the surrounding reality. The starting point for the exhibition is the artist's creative method and how he worked to transform faces and silhouettes through a series of iterations.
