Contemporary art: impressionism, post-impressionism, the Paris school

Tel Aviv Art Museum invites you to visit the exhibition"Contemporary art: impressionism, post-impressionism, the Parisian school".

Spectators will see the masterpieces of the leading artists of the indicated trends in painting of the second half of the 19th - first half of the 20th centuries from the collection of Simon and Maria Yaglom.

Many of the artists whose work is on display in the gallery worked in liberal Paris in the early twentieth century. The immigrant artists who gathered in the city and worked in it, each in their own style, became known as the "Paris School". Among them were a large number of prominent artists of Jewish origin, including Amadeo Modigliani, Moses Kisling, and Chaim Soutine, who are represented in this exhibition.

Along with neo-Impressionist works, the gallery displays works by Max Liebermann, Sir Urie and Lovis Corinth - German artists of the turn of the century, whose work combines the innovations of Impressionism with traditional academic painting, as well as the works of Marc Chagall, who was a close friend of the museum.
