Palazzo Cini Art Museum hosts a large exhibition
Piranesi. Rome. Basilico. On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Giovanni Battista Piranesi ".
The exhibition introduces a large collection of prints by Giovanni Battista Piranesi with views of Ancient Rome belonging to the Cini Foundation, and magnificent landscape photographs of Gabriele Basilico with views of the modern Eternal City.
On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Giambattista Piranesi (Venice, 1720 - Rome, 1778), the Giorgio Cini Foundation pays tribute to the great Venetian artist.
Visitors can admire some of the most emblematic sites of the Eternal City through original 18th century engravings and photographs created from a similar angle by a talented Milanese photographer.
