Jewish Museum in New York hosts an exhibition

The exhibition is organized by artist Jonathan Horowitz and brings together the work of over 70 artists, from 18th century portrait painters to contemporary artists.
Visitors will see over 80 pieces of painting, sculpture, photography and video, as well as examples of American Socialist Realism from the 1930s and 1940s, and new works by Jonathan Horowitz. They are complemented by 36 custom-made protest posters by contemporary artists, including Judith Bernstein, Marcel Zama, Rico Gatson, Kim Gordon and Jason Smith, Cheyenne Julien, Christina Sun Kim, Guadeloupe Maravilla and Marilyn Minter. The exhibition also includes works by Asko, Huma Bhabhi, Enrique Chagoya, Robert Colescott, Philip Evergood, Luis Jimenez, Rebecca Lepkoff, Glenn Ligon, Abraham Manievich, Bernard Perlin, Adrian Peiper, Fritz Scholder, Smeet Quick-i Andy Warhol, Max Weber, Charles White, etc.
The title of the exhibition "We Fight to Build a Free World" is adapted from a painting by Ben Shan, which will be presented to the audience. The exhibition shows how artists have historically reacted to the rise of authoritarianism and xenophobia, as well as to racism, anti-Semitism and other forms of bigotry. The exhibition also touches upon issues of immigration, assimilation and cultural identity.
