In Diaghilev's circle. Crossing of destinies

Exhibition November 14, 2020 − February 12, 2021
Diaghilev was attracted by the future, on the altar of new creative victories he sacrificed friendship with former associates, be it Dmitry Filosofov, Vaslav Nijinsky or Alexander Benois. His circles of communication changed along with new artistic tasks, and only a few remained with Diaghilev forever. This project - an unprecedented dialogue between the artistic cultures of Russia and Europe - at its core inherits the ideas of Sergei Diaghilev himself, a passionate promoter of European art in Russia and, on the contrary, of Russian art in the West. Diaghilev was in many ways the first. The first curator of art exhibitions that had a concept and creative selection of works. The first consistent creator of theatrical performance as a synthetic show, in which music, choreography, scenography and costumes are combined into a holistic artistic concept. The first Russian theater producer, "godfather" of the European art of production. Diaghilev had an amazing ability to unite around him, to captivate with his ideas not only creators - composers, artists, choreographers and dancers - but also financiers, diplomats, royalty and wealthy admirers and admirers.
