Following the traditions of old masters - such as Sebastiano del Piombo, Caravaggio, Michelangelo and Veronese - works from the series "The World through the Eyes of an Artist" the author's technique Orichalcum - oil on brass with a modern design. The shine of metal in combination with the texture of the brushstroke does not allow the eye to divide the space into first, second and third planes, but turns the image into a mirage. The works of Yulia Mamontova are expressed on the basis of real-life impressions, the importance of which is to convey the spirit of space, the historical atmosphere of buildings and picturesque places in different parts of the world.

Yulia Mamontova is the great-granddaughter of the Russian merchant Vasily Mamontov, who continued the family business of the 18th-19th centuries to trade and deliver goods from England to Arkhangelsk and the Urals along the Mezen River. Inspired by the history of her family, the artist took her family name as a pseudonym and continued the traditions of the development and preservation of Russian culture.

The main creative task of Yulia Mamontova is to revive the old painting techniques and preserve them for new generations, following the traditions of her ancestors - Russian merchants and patrons. Another ancient sacred technique in which the artist works is this is encaustic, using Punic beeswax on quality wood of various species. Within the framework of the project "Across the Ocean" Julia presents the work performed in this technique.

The curator of the series of works "The World through the Eyes of an Artist" was Daria Rusakova, an international figure of contemporary art. Daria has created concepts for 100 art projects and organized over 60 exhibitions, art residences and symposia for contemporary artists around the world.
