State Museum of Fine Arts named after A.S. Pushkin presents an exhibition
“Keepers. Brotherhood of the Key "dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the numismatics department.
The exposition will acquaint viewers with the history of one of the largest collections of the museum, tell about the most prominent collectors and curators. The exposition will include individual masterpieces and items from the iconic collections of the numismatic fund, which includes more than 220 thousand items. Among the exhibits presented at the exhibition are coins and medals, orders and badges, banknotes, gems and seals, casts, as well as archival documents.
In 2020, 75 years have passed since the creation of the numismatics department of the Pushkin Museum. A.S. Pushkin as an independent division of the museum. A small collection of Moscow University, whose materials have been used by teachers as teaching aids since the end of the 18th century, has become one of the most significant numismatic collections in the country. The jubilee exhibition will show items that entered the museum from 1945 to 2020, as well as materials from the museum's manuscript department and private archives.
