Zinaida Serebryakova. From the collection of the Russian Museum

Exhibition February 13 − May 30, 2021
An exhibition is taking place in the halls of the Primorsky State Art Gallery “Zinaida Serebryakova. From the collection of the Russian Museum ".

The exposition presents forty-three works (paintings and graphics) by Zinaida Serebryakova, an iconic figure in Russian art of the 20th century. Rural landscapes, portraits (peasants, relatives, friends, writers, artists), luscious still lifes, theatrical backstage, the world of family idyll and psychological self-portraits - all this found its place in the exhibition.

The new exhibition will showcase famous and rarely exhibited paintings and graphic works by Zinaida Serebryakova - from early works created in Russia to paintings of the Paris period. Works from the collection of the Russian Museum will be complemented by the painting "Tata and Katya Serebryakovs", donated in 2017 to the Primorsky Art Gallery by the famous Far Eastern scientist Alexander Sergeevich Kleschev.

The Russian Museum is the custodian of one of the artist's largest collections, which contains 60 paintings and about 200 graphic works reflecting all stages of the artist's work. The collection of works by Serebryakova was formed in the Russian Museum throughout the life of the master. The first acquisitions were made by the museum in 1911 from the famous World of Art exhibition. Other sources of formation were the collections of the artist's children - Tatyana and Yevgeny Serebryakov, as well as works purchased from a personal exhibition in Leningrad in 1966.
