Picture gallery: Venetian and Dutch painting of the 16th-17th centuries

Exhibition March 29 − December 19, 2021
Duke Anton Ulrich Museum presents a large exhibition "Picture Gallery: Venetian and Dutch Painting of the 16th-17th Centuries".

Visitors will be able to see more than 300 paintings by Dutch Mannerist and Baroque masters, as well as representatives of the Venetian school.

The halls of the museum display portraits, still lifes, landscape and animal painting. Each showroom is also dedicated to a specific thematic motto, which should provide viewers with a new vision of the collection. This can relate to both artistic principles and the relationship between the artist and the painting, for example, the artist's self-esteem or the art of "deceiving" through painting.
