Still alive

Exhibition March 26 − July 4, 2021
The State Art Collections of Dresden, the Albertinum Museum of Fine Arts and the Hoffman Collection present an exhibition project "Still alive".

The exposition contains more than 65 works from 1957 to 2017, which in one way or another touch on these topics of instability, mobility, transience, variability of modern reality, the vulnerability of the individual in relation to society. The works on display range from large-scale installations to photographic series and illustrate the diversity of a private collection that has developed since the 1960s against a backdrop of often close exchanges with artists.

The concept of the exhibition is presented in three directions: prelude in the visual arts, covering an endless stream of time; installations that demonstrate the insecurity of the inner spiritual content in the world of changing political and social ideologies; works of art that demonstrate the variability of forms and the process of creativity itself.
