Michael Hertz Gallery. From Kollwitz to Miro
Exhibition March 16 − July 11, 2021
The Bremen Picture Gallery (Kunsthalle Bremen) invites you to visit the exhibition “Gallery of Michael Hertz. From Kollwitz to Miro ".
Visitors will see a selection of works by artists such as Max Beckmann, Marc Chagall, Otto Dix, Alberto Giacometti, Kete Kollwitz, Fernand Leger, Ernst Wilhelm Nye, Emile Nolde, André Masson and Joan Miró.
Among the works presented are two illustrated books by Alberto Giacometti, which were rarely shown, the last self-portrait by Käthe Kollwitz and the first graphic by Ernst Wilhelm Nye. It is noteworthy that it was the collector and gallery owner Michael Hertz that prompted Nye to devote himself to graphics. In addition to prints, eleven separate items are on display - paintings, sculptures and drawings.
