Max Beckman. World Theater

Exhibition September 30, 2017 − February 4, 2018
Max Beckman (1884 - 1950) was fascinated by the world of theater, circus and variety shows. He perceived them as a metaphorical prism of human relations and world events. In his legacy there were many paintings, engravings, drawings and sculptures on this subject.

The starting point of the exhibition"Max Beckman. World Theater » became the rich reserves of the Art Museum in Bremen, which owns one of the largest collections in Germany of the artist's works. The exposition is supplemented with works borrowed from large German and international museums, as well as private collections.

After completion of work in Bremen, the exhibition will move to the Barberini Museum in Potsdam, where it will be presented from February 24 to June 10, 2018.
