The State Russian Museum in the halls of the Marble Palace is holding an exhibition “Ivan Lubennikov. Painting. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the artist's birth ".
The jubilee exhibition of the People's Artist of the Russian Federation Ivan Leonidovich Lubennikov, which includes more than 60 paintings of different years, from the 1980s to the present day, is designed to present a wide range of topics that the author is passionate about. The exposition presents female images, where the artist's contemporaries are captured in the image of warriors and goddesses and works that combine the genres of portrait and still life, where characters are refracted in numerous reflections, in vessels, aquariums and mirrors.
The author's style of Ivan Lubennikov is distinguished by monumentality and laconic form, special author's irony and somewhat brutal presentation of the image.
