Knight Vittore Carpaccio: Restoration and Technical Research

Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum presents an exhibition "Knight Vittore Carpaccio: Restoration and Technical Research".
After the restoration of one of the most famous paintings of the museum "The Young Knight in a Landscape" (circa 1505) by Vittore Carpaccio, the results of the work done will be presented in a special exhibition-installation.
The restored painting will be shown along with a video that explains and illustrates the work done and the results obtained from the technical research that accompanies all restoration projects. Analysis of materials, X-ray images, reflectograms and other research methods made it possible to study the painting in detail in order to learn more about the artist's creative process and methods, as well as obtain the information necessary to carry out the restoration with the utmost care and care.
