Claudia Comte. After nature

Exhibition May 11 − August 22, 2021
The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum invites you to visit the exhibition Claudia Comte. After nature ".

The unusual exhibition includes a series of sculptures created by the Swiss artist Claudia Comte especially for this event.

Passionate about exploring the oceans, Comte came to the conclusion that corals are complex creatures that play a key role in the production of oxygen on Earth. Their disappearance has a profound impact on life on the planet. This exhibition is based on the idea of being able to understand and restore corals and is divided into two spaces: day and night, each Wednesday refers to a moment in the process of exploration, as well as reconciliation with ocean life. The daytime space presents corals made of wood, while the second evokes the darkness of the depths of the seabed with murals that, through graphics, shapes, technologies and materials, become an immersive installation.
