Never. Oscar Dominguez and Pablo Picasso

Exhibition May 15 − October 3, 2021
The Picasso Museum in Barcelona has resumed the exhibition "Never. Oscar Dominguez and Pablo Picasso ".

In January and February 1938, at the famous international surrealist exhibition organized at the Galerie Beaux-Arts in Paris, Oscar Dominguez's gramophone caused the same sensation as El Salvador's Taxi pluvieux. Dali or 1200 bags of coal, suspended from the ceiling of the main hall.

Surrealist Oscar Dominguez turned the gramophone in the Pathé pavilion into an erotic and hypnotic, disturbing and mysterious object. It seems as if a woman's body was sculpted and dismembered in order to put her breasts on a turntable, operate the handle of the device with one hand and, above all, force the pipe to swallow this body so that the only visible part is his legs, or rather feet, in high heels ... This object will appear again in July 2020 at the Picasso Museum in Barcelona as a real gem. Its resurrection provides an opportunity to restore the atmosphere of the innovative and amazing exhibition of 1938
