The South Australian Art Gallery hosts an exhibition
"Dusan and Voitre Marek: Surrealists at Sea".
This is the first large-scale rectrospective exhibition of art by Czech artists Dusan and Voitre Marekov.
Since their arrival in Adelaide in 1948, Dušan and Voitre have launched a wave of new ideas and controversy that challenged the art of the time.
Against the backdrop of a ticking clock and a music box, this exhibition presents the breadth of their exploration. The main sections of the exhibition include paintings of the artists' travels, created during their long sea voyage from Europe to Australia, and Dusan's groundbreaking surreal films.
