The State Museum-Reserve "Tsaritsyno" is holding an exhibition in the halls of the Grand Palace
"The Family is the Soul of Russia.".
In the exhibition you can see realistic art from museum collections and private collections, as well as works of professional and non-professional artists. The exhibition is traditionally timed to celebrate the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity, which is closely connected with the life story of St. Peter and Fevronia of Murom, who are an example of marital fidelity and family happiness for many.
This year's exhibition is dedicated to doctors and their professional exploits, which they perform daily in our difficult times. The image of the doctor is inextricably linked to motherhood and deep family feelings. In Sick Child painted by Viktor Popkov, one of the main representatives of the so-called "severe style," the examination of a sick child turns into a kind of mystery - the composition is dramatically built around the fragile figure of a boy in bed, surrounded by adults. The theme is supported by a color linocut by Elena Uspenskaya "Children's doctor", a ceramic panel by Marina Dedova-Dzedushinskaya "Medical students at the operation". The exhibition will also feature works by famous Soviet portraitists: "Portrait of the State Prize laureate, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Surgeon N.A. Milanov" by Alexandra Suvorova, "Memories of Parents" by Nikolai Andronov and "Portrait" by Robert Falk.
The second part of the exhibition presents 94 works of professional and non-professional artists and students of art schools, selected by the authoritative jury of the All-Russian competition "Family is the soul of Russia.
