Personal exhibition of Recycle Group "New Nature

Exhibition July 16 − September 15, 2021
The Central Exhibition Hall "Manezh" presents a large-scale project: a solo exhibition by the Russian art group Recycle.

In their new project New Nature, artists Andrei Blokhin and Georgy Kuznetsov, winners of the Kandinsky Prize and participants in the Russian pavilion at the 57th Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art, continue to explore the cultural and visual codes of the Homo Virtualis world, where citation indices, engagement rates, views and likes are particularly valuable, and where virtual reality replaces religion and is winning back more and more adherents.

At the exhibition in Manezh, the artists will present interactive sculptures and dynamic installations that will turn the audience into participants of virtual and technological performance. Comparing themselves to metronomes and unfolding their project in three dimensions (material, spiritual, and virtual), Recycle strives to anticipate and foresee ideas that will form the basis of future art. Work on the New Nature exhibition went on for two years, during which the idea of the project was transformed several times and finally found its final concept. The artists focused on exploring the possibility of telepathy between humans and machines, the artificial mind and the natural one. Replacing our gaze with a digital code, Recycle Group aims to put the viewer in the place of a machine, giving him the opportunity to feel how the program analyzes and reads information about the world around him.
