Graphics of the VIII century. Masterpieces from private collections

Exhibition August 5 − October 17, 2021
The State Museum-Reserve Tsaritsyno is holding an exhibition "VIII Century Graphics. Masterpieces from Private Collections".

More than 70 sheets of graphics, including works by famous masters - Tiepolo, Guardi, Boucher, Laurence, Martos - which can be seen in the exhibition, are provided by 11 collectors, including Sergey and Tatiana Podstanitsky, Inna Bazhenova, Tatiana Alexeeva and Anatoly Gostev. These are works by the best masters of their era: Boucher, Watteau, Fragonard, Lyotard, Guardi, Tiepolo, Lawrence and Jacques Louis David. These rare sheets come from pre-revolutionary collections. Some of them were in the collections of Count Peter Sukhtelen, the artists Giovanni Domenico Bossi, Pavel Radimov and Konstantin Somov, in the Paris collections of General Prince Nikolai Orlov, Imperial Army officer Alexander Popov and many others.

Fragile, demanding in their storage, survived to this day only through the care of several generations of collectors graphic sheets - made in pencil, watercolor and especially popular in the XVIII century pastel - will be exhibited in the halls of the Bread House.
