Van Gogh. Between the wheat sky

The Basilica Palladiana in Vicenza takes the largest Italian monographic exhibition dedicated to Vincent van Gogh. The exhibition "Between wheat and sky" brings together 40 paintings and 85 drawings by the famous Dutch post impressionist located in ten halls, five of which are devoted to the Dutch period of his life, and the same French.

Passionate letters addressed to his brother Theo and friends, create a diary of the pain and suffering that accompanied the artist's life and inspired his work. The exhibition covers all periods of van Gogh's life. It is not only ten years of his turbulent creativity (1880 – 1890), but previous years that can be considered "preparatory".

The exhibition van Gogh in Vicenza offers an accurate reconstruction of the artist's life and follows the chain of her key events. In the summer of 1880, 27-year-old Vincent told Theo about his decision to become an artist, and ten years later, in July 1890 on, committed suicide.
