Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow presents the exhibition
"Closer to the point." Nikita Alekseev is a classic of Russian contemporary art.
The Museum, which made with Nikita Alekseev several excellent projects and supported him in the last, very difficult years of his life, dedicates the exhibition "Closer to the Meaning" to his memory. In the first posthumous exhibition of Nikita Alekseev, we have tried to accumulate as much of his work as possible, fulfilling the artist's last will.
Subtle graphics of "Pre-mortem Drawings", which Alexeev started working on back in the 2000s, and small notes "about nothing", as he called them, and which he posted almost daily on his Facebook, are a dotted line through the entire exhibition, which consists of more than three hundred works from numerous series created over the last twenty years. Nikita Alekseev was an artist and a writer. To separate in his creativity one hypostasis from another is practically impossible. He knew, felt and moved freely in the space of the world culture - art, music, philosophy and literature - in the range from ancient Japanese sages to John Cage.
