Personal exhibition of Vladimir Pogrebniak "Don't gog my goga!

Exhibition October 8 − November 14, 2021
October 8 at 17.00 in the front hall of the Primorsky State Art Gallery (Aleutskaya St., 12) will host an exhibition of a member of the Primorsky branch of the Union of Artists of Russia Vladimir Nikolaevich Pogrebniak "Do not gog my goga! This is the first personal exhibition of the author in the halls of the gallery.
Vladimir Pogrebnyak is a well-known seaside painter with an extraordinary temperament and tremendous capacity for work. There is a deep philosophical and associative subtext in his works. The viewer can not only get acquainted with Pogrebniak's works, but also create an ironic story that reflects the author's inner feelings, thoughts and dreams of harmony in the world.
"Don't gog my goga!" - a phrase of a little girl Sofia, the artist's granddaughter, uttered in a moment of fascination with the game and meaning: "Don't touch my leg." It hides the delineation of "personal space". The careful protection of this space by each person is the basis of the concept of the exhibition.
"Don't Gog My Goga!" - is a story-revelation of the artist about the fact that we are all of different age, sex, upbringing, life experience, but we live in neighboring "sandboxes". And each - with its own idea, which for him is very valuable and can not be lost, because it is something very intimate, intimate. The author has brought to the surface very different issues of contemporary reality: emancipation, life under pandemic conditions, personal experiences, fears, everyday worries and - of course! - dreams. People carefully equip and protect their personal space, his cozy "sandbox", and all want harmony and unity between the external and internal, seeking harmony.
The exhibition features over forty works from the artist's studio. More than twenty of them were created in 2021. The centerpiece is the painting "Global Warming", which successfully illustrates the theme of the exhibition, defined by the author as "serene complacency".
The world of children helps Vladimir Pogrebnjak to single out from his life impressions that will help the viewer to address his most intimate thoughts and feelings, to allow himself not to be afraid, but to speak openly about how much one can or cannot "gog", "playing" nearby. The author deliberately strives to imitate the childish manner with simple uncomplicated lines and strokes, creating his own matrix of the environment, and including in its basis different signs (attributes, symbols), which are not always understandable on their own. The idea is presented through humor, irony and self-irony. In this way the author gives the viewer an inner feeling of freedom.
The exhibition will run until November 14.
