The Meadows Museum in Dallas is holding an exhibit
"Canvas and Silk: Historical Fashion".
The museum will present, for the first time, paired works in the Meadows collection with representative samples of historical clothing depicted to shed new light on the relationship between representation and reality, between image and artefact. The project will allow us to look at historical periods of fashion development through the lens of Spanish art.
Jewellery, shoes, accessories, clothing sets, and combined installations of objects and images create a dialogue between fashion and the visual arts, through which visitors learn about the evolutionary process of both.
