Alexei Golovin. The thrill

Exhibition September 29 − November 1, 2021
Museum of Contemporary Art "Artmusa" holds an exhibition "Alexei Golovin. A thrill.".

Visitors will see the unusual work of a contemporaries artist who creates virtuosic works in oil and painted self-cutting. Considering the technique of the works, the painter's lack of higher art education is particularly impressive. By now Alexey Golovin is a member of the Professional Union of Artists of Russia, while his works are kept in private collections in a number of countries, from Italy to Canada and Thailand.

"Each painting is an image that is born within me and manifests itself on the canvas. Don't try to understand what I mean exactly - look through yourself". But despite everything, one can hardly let go of the very fact of combining classical painting with new material. Self-tapping is a technical element that is the direct opposite of everything sublime. It is a material that is used as a contrast, as a fact of change in the perception of the painting. "The self-tapping is a symbol of how one experiences all the emotions within oneself. Just as different feelings pierce a person through, the self-tapping in paintings cuts into the painting" - in the words of the artist himself.
