The Victoria and Albert Museum presents an exhibition
"Fabergé in London: from romance to revolution".
The exhibition of over 200 pieces tells the story of Karl Fabergé, the man behind the world-famous firm that epitomizes Russian craftsmanship, luxury and elegance, as well as the Anglo-Russian relationship that led to the opening of the London branch in 1903.
The only overseas branch of Fabergé in London was established to supply the British royal family and courtiers with jewellery. The price of these bewitching pieces was high, but they were by no means costly in themselves, and so as gifts could not compromise their lucky recipients.
