Matthew Wong: The Blue Look

Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), Toronto holds exhibition "Matthew Wong: The Blue Look."dedicated to the short, but the brilliant career of Matthew Wong, a Chinese-Canadian self-taught artist from Toronto.
Visitors will see more than 40 paintings from the artist's Blue Series, created between 2017 and 2019. The works range in scale from small intimate compositions painted in gouache on paper to monumental oil paintings.
The exhibition invites viewers into a world of mesmerizing night landscapes, brooding interiors, and vivid still lifes. Reflecting on the many moods of blue, this series evokes a very current sense of isolation and showcases a wide range of artistic styles, from Chinese calligraphy and scroll painting to pointillism and Fauvism.
