"Norbert Grund. The charm of everyday life» is the first of its kind display that represents the genre of artist's paintings in a wider context. Each section deals with a separate subject and comparison of his works with works by contemporary Central European Cabinet painting and paintings which it has inspired. A separate section is devoted to etchings by Jan jiří Balzer, who popularized the works of compatriot. The exposition includes objects of decorative art of Rococo.
Norbert Grund (1717 – 1767) was educated in the workshop of his father Christian, who was a painter and curator of the art gallery of the counts of Kolovrat-Lichtanski. Later Grund Jr. studied abroad, but in 1751 returned to Prague, where he remained until his death. His pictures enjoyed considerable popularity, especially among the educated members of the middle class, they also bought the monasteries and aristocrats.
The last retrospective Norbert Grund was held in the Vienna Belvedere, and the Prague Loreto in 1967, and then in Liberec in 1972. Since then the knowledge about his work greatly expanded, enriching the current exhibition in the far East
