Exhibition "Taiga. Arsenyev. Uzala."

From June 25, Primorsky State Art Gallery invites you to the Parade Hall for the exhibition "Taiga. Arseniev. Uzala", dedicated to the 150th birthday anniversary of the Russian traveler, geographer, ethnographer, writer, researcher of the Far East Vladimir Klavdievich Arseniev (1872-1930), who played an important role in shaping the tradition of artistic interpretation of the region.

The project involves more than a hundred works from museum collections: the Primorsky State Picture Gallery (Vladivostok), the V. K. Arsenyev Museum of History of the Far East (Vladivostok), the Orenburg Regional Museum of Fine Arts (Orenburg), the M. Nesterov Bashkir State Art Museum (Ufa), the Khabarovsk Krai Museum of Fine Arts (Khabarovsk), the Russian Museum of the History of the Far East (Vladivostok), the Russian State Art Museum (St. Petersburg). The Museum is located in the Khabarovsk Krai Museum named after N.I. Grodekov (Khabarovsk), as well as the Primorsky Krai branch of the All-Russian Public Organization Russian Geographical Society - Society for the Study of the Amur Krai (Vladivostok).

Images of Vladimir Arsenyev and Dersu Uzal will be presented not only in book illustrations, graphics, but also in easel paintings.

An exclusive part of the exhibition is about thirty works, created by coastal artists specifically for the project in a variety of genres and types of fine art. The works of the seaside artists illuminate the subject vividly and deeply, often from an unusual perspective. At the end of the exhibition these works will fill the funds of the Picture Gallery and will be participants of the big tour of the Gallery through the cities and towns of the region. The purpose of the traveling exhibition is to acquaint Primorians with Vladimir Arsenyev's wonderful life in more detail.

The exhibition runs until August 21, 2022.
