Persia. Ancient Iran and the Classical World

Exhibition April 6 − August 8, 2022
The Getty Museum invites you to visit a popular exhibition "Persia. Ancient Iran and the Classical World".

The works on display include royal sculpture, impressive luxury items, religious images and historical documents collected from major museums in the United States, Europe and the Middle East.

Ancient Iran, historically known as Persia, was the dominant nation in Western Asia for more than a millennium (circa 550 B.C. to 650 A.D.), and three local dynasties controlled an empire of unprecedented size and complexity. The exhibition explores the artistic and cultural ties between the rival great powers of Iran, Greece, and Rome.
