"Watercolor Recipes", exhibition of the Union of Watercolorists of St. Petersburg

"Watercolor recipes" is not so much a pragmatic concept as a metaphysical one. In the concept of the exhibition we were going from the classical Dutch still life, in which the philosophy of life and situation is transmitted through specific, quite edible, ingredients. With a bit of imagination, or simply by succumbing to the sensual logic of watercolor we can imagine the "dishes" the artists have prepared for us. But behind the surface, even the most beautiful image, hides the main thing - a conversation about the eternal. The philosophy of the conventionality of the realistic in the artists' watercolor transcriptions is a kind of invitation to an intellectual meal, where experiences and meanings become the main source of enjoyment.
