Edvard Munch. Masterpieces from Bergen

Exhibition May 27 − September 4, 2022
The Courtauld Institute of Art holds the first major exhibition of works by Edvard Munch in Britain "Masterpieces from Bergen.".

The exhibition features about 18 paintings from the collection of the KODE Art Museum, Bergen, Norway, owner of one of the largest collections of Munch paintings in the world.

The Courtauld Museum's collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces provides a rich context for the exhibition, revealing some of the artistic inspirations Munch encountered during his experimental years in Paris from 1889 to 1892, where he discovered the contemporary styles of Gauguin, Toulouse-Lautrec and Van Gogh.

Prepared according to the materials of the website The Courtauld Institute of Art, London.
