Three colors - like a black and white photograph with red accents, can be a reflection of everyday life, a captured moment, frozen in the frame of the camera or captured on the canvas by an artist's brush, or the hand of a master of modern digital art. As a lyricism of everyday life, presented elegantly and subtly, in the most expressive and austere colors:
- white as a statement of light, purity and clarity, where white becomes a symbol of power, legitimacy and truth;
- black or many shades of black - shading the light and giving it volume and shape. It is an allegorical symbol of refinement, pedantry and sensuality;
- red - juicy, open and lively - as drawing attention to the most important thing, the essence of the composition and its semantic core. Where red symbolizes joy, love, and beauty.
The project "Black/White/Red" is like the three colors of time and a story about today, about our reality in the prism of a limited palette. The artist's gaze, the idea and thought expressed in red, black and white...
But, there could be another reading of the project. As a radical, bold concept, not talking, but screaming about the problem, feelings and pain. Where the symbolism of color is given meaning to the maximum. Red is the color of struggle and blood, of fortitude and determination. Black is death and destruction, mourning, gloom and hopelessness. White is purity, virtue and spiritual holiness, harmony.
Eugene Netra is the idea behind the project.
