In the Blue Hall of the Museum of the Academy of Arts on February 17 opens the exhibition of paintings and drawings by A. I. Perevyshko "Peter I. Life for the benefit of Russia", dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the birth of Peter the Great.

The anniversary date is celebrated throughout the country, but has special significance for St. Petersburg, the city founded by Peter the Great. An exhibition of works dedicated to the first Russian emperor by Anatoly Ivanovich Perevyyshko, a graduate of the Repin Institute and a student of Boris S. Ugarov, opens the anniversary celebrations at the Museum of the Academy of Arts.

А. I. Perevyyshko devoted thirty years of his creative work to creating historical paintings, covering the life path of the reforming tsar from his early years to the last days of his life. In the paintings performed by the artist, the life of Peter the Great is presented as a vivid and impressive illustration of the creative activity of the first Russian emperor. This cycle is a vivid embodiment of the idea of serving one's Fatherland.

The exhibition features more than fifty works reflecting the life journey of the reforming tsar from his early years to the last days of his life. Most of the compositions are based on historical facts from the life and work of Peter the Great. At the heart of each picture is a huge work in plein air.

For the exhibition "Peter the Great. Life for the Good of Russia" was published in an album of the same name, including 177 paintings and graphic works by the artist.
