Andrew Smooth. The light and the shadow of Les Baux-de-Provence, or the Imitation of Irisa

The basis of the monographic exhibition of Andrey Smooth "the light and the shadow of Les Baux-de-Provence, or Imitation Irisa" in Kiev gallery "Manufactura" is a new series of works the artist created throughout the last several years of his fruitful work. Inspired by the powerful black and white contrast and incredible colorful effect of the nature of the South of France, the artist seeks to embody it on his canvases. He explores his creativity visual properties of the painting, is increasingly pushing its expressive possibilities.

A common theme for all the paintings of nature. Part of the work included in the cycle "Grape beginning." "For me, grape is not only an image of a man and the sky, the air. Grape is the only berry that does not eat the worm. It is the grapes that give the wine a divine part. In the human sense, the grapes symbolize hard work," explains Smooth.

Andrew Smooth - one of the brightest representatives of contemporary Ukrainian art, a follower of the Kharkov school of painting. The artist is the participant of all-Ukrainian and international creative projects (Germany, France, Poland) and the author of several personal exhibitions, one of which took place in the United States. His works are in private collections not only in Ukraine but also abroad.
