Virginia Woolf. The exhibition, inspired her writings

Discover the artworks inspired by poems of one of the most famous British writers – Virginia Woolf. The author of the classic texts, including the novels "To the lighthouse" "Mrs Dalloway", "Between the acts" and one of the first feminist essay "my Own room", a significant portion of childhood spent in St Ives where the exhibition opened.
In the exhibition "By Virginia Woolf. The exhibition, inspired by her writings" collected works of over 80 artists from 1850 to the present time. Among them Laura knight and Gwen John, sister of the writer, Vanessa bell, Winifred Nicholson, Sandra blow, Barbara Hepworth, Claude Cass and Dora Carrington. The exhibition, inspired by the works of Virginia Woolf, explores a feminist perspective on landscape, interior and identity in modernism and contemporary art.
After finishing work at the Tate St Ives show will be moved to the gallery Palant house, Chichester (26 may – 16 September) and the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge (October 2 – December 9).
