In 1925-1930 he studied at the Saratov industrial-art College, worked in Samara theatre of operetta, the Penza drama theatre.

In 1936, arrived in Orenburg, where he became a painter of regional drama theatre, where he worked for almost 40 years. Here he designed more than 150 productions, many of which have entered the theater of the Treasury ("Great Emperor" on the play by Vladimir Solovyov, "Savage" A. N. Ostrovsky, "Romeo and Juliet" by W. Shakespeare, "the Power of darkness".Tolstoy, etc.).

The artist has successfully engaged in easel painting. They created a wonderful series of portraits of cultural figures of the Orenburg region (D. N. Fomichev, A. J., Pokidchenko, S. M., Loubet, N..Pleshkova, L. N. Bolshakova, etc.). The lyricism filled with landscapes from the region. The artist perfectly mastered the technique of pastels, which allowed him to achieve color purity, nobility of tone solutions.

In 1957 Alexandrov was awarded the title "Honored worker of arts of RSFSR".
