Pupil of the Moscow School of painting and sculpture. Since 1851 an auditor student at the Academy of fine Arts. Received silver medals: in 1855-2 and 1; 1857, 2 and 1; 1858-2 and 1. In 1859-the title of artist 3rd degree; in 1864-the title of class artist of 2 degrees. (Kondakov)
