Was born in 23 January (4 February) 1870 in the town of Palekh. Honored worker of arts of the RSFSR (1935). Member of the Union of artists of the RSFSR in 1934. Hereditary icon painter. In the years 1880-1886 studied in the workshop of N. M.The master Safonov V. A. Belyaev. Then 34 years worked and. Participated in the restoration of the frescoes of the Annunciation Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin (1897). From 1891 to 1895 he was in military service. The participant Russian-Japanese war of 1904-1905.
