From 1933 to 1939 he studied at the Repin Institute of arts in the workshop of I. I. Brodsky. Studied at the Mikhail Bernstein, P. S. Naumov, A. M. Lubimov, V. S. Serova. Received a Diploma with honors on graduation. Thesis "the Date of Lenin and Stalin".

The exhibition of his works took place in 1959 in Vologda. Taught at Repin Institute of arts in 1939 and 1941 and from 1942 to 1961gg. Professor of the Leningrad Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture named I. E. Repin (1961-1989). Wrote of paintings on historical-revolutionary theme, portraits, landscapes, genre scenes.
