Vasilyevich Zhegalov

Russia • 1898−1941

He was born on 12 (24) March 1898 in Palekh. In 1913-1917, he studied in workshops of the Committee of guardianship of Russian iconography. Member of artel of ancient painting since 1928. Teachers with I. M. Bakanov and A. V. Kotuhin. In 1937-1938 worked for the Dulevo porcelain factory. Died in 1941 in the village of Loma Palekh district, Ivanovo region.

Was engaged in monumental painting (pavilion "Tobacco" VSHV, Gastronome №1 of Moscow), painted porcelain. Themes of works: folklore, history, genre scenes. Participated in exhibitions since 1933.

The work of V. V. Zhegalova are stored in museums: gmpi, Umgeni, PIM, SHAMS, OC Ivanovo, Russian Museum of A. S. Pushkin "Moika 12"
