Biography and information

Honored worker of culture of the RSFSR. The Chairman of the Board of the Sverdlovsk branch of Union of artists of the USSR. A member of the Union of artists of the USSR

Born in the city of Omsk. In childhood the family moved to the Urals. In 1933 he began his working life as an apprentice artist in the "Sverdlovsk-gorstroy". In 1934, at the city exhibition showed his first watercolors. Assessing the ability and diligence of the young man, his in 1935 was sent to study in the Sverdlovsk art College. Studied with A. A. Zhukov, F. K. Shmelev. He graduated from the school in 1940, Diploma work (supervisor - G. A. Melent'ev) became the plot "Speech Sverdlov at the Stone tents", then exhibited at the all-Union exhibition of diploma works at the Academy of Arts in Leningrad.

After graduation, he supervised the art room at the House of the red Army, and in the years of the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945 worked in evacuated from Kiev military-medical school.

In his early career, tried his hand at various genres of painting, but the first known for his still lifes, exported at exhibitions Sverdlovsk artists 1946-1947 and all-Union art exhibition of 1947 in Moscow. In these years, D. M. Jonas creates a series of landscapes of Sverdlovsk. Paintings "town pond", "the Monument to Y. M. Sverdlov in the city Park" and other landscape works have become a significant phenomenon in the creative biography of the artist.

In 1947, D. M. Jonas wrote the only portrait - "Noble driller Illarion Yankin".

In the years of the virgin lands he wrote a few paintings; two of them - "First shoots" and "Black earth" received a high appraisal at the all-Union art exhibition in Moscow.

In the first years of work he worked mostly in oil painting, but then he got caught up in graphics and watercolors. Skillfully using rich scenic opportunities watercolors, he created his best works.

In 1970, D. M. Jonas was one of the organizers of the art Union artists and labor collectives of the largest industrial enterprises. Linking his fate with Uralmashzavod, he created a series of watercolors: "the shops Uralmash", "Uralmash - plant factories", "Hot Uralmash plant", "Fire Uralmash". He worked also as a graphic (a series of "Hot plant Uralmash", 1978-1981, including the sheet "Desyatitysyachnye press"). Worked in the shops not only there, but also Visa, Khimmash, PNTZ, NTMK.

An important place in his work took the subject of his native city. His work "New quarters", "Sotsgorodok on Uralkhimmash", "Opera and ballet" and many others you can combine in a great series "the City grows, a city is built" (he's written 25 watercolor paintings, devoted to Sverdlovsk).

The works of D. M. ionina stored in the Yekaterinburg picture gallery, Perm art gallery, Nizhny Tagil Museum of fine arts.

In 1969 he designed for the middle Urals book publishing house the book "Lenin on the Ural", received the diploma of the 1st degree at the all-Union competition for the best publications 1969-1970

Wrote a number of articles on art published in magazines and Newspapers.

Possessing exceptional organizational skills for more than 25 years (1945-1970) was the Chairman of the Sverdlovsk branch of Union of artists of the USSR, was the head of the evening school of artists-designers at the SC, directed the art room at the District house of officers.

In the years 1950-1960 was elected to the Sverdlovsk party Committee, Regional Soviet of people's deputies. In 1942 he was admitted to the Union of artists of the USSR. In 1965 he was awarded the honorary title "Honored worker of culture of the RSFSR". Awarded the order the Labour red banner and "badge of Honor" and the Honorary diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR.
