Biography and information

He studied at the school of the society of German craftsmen in Riga (1908 – 11, B. ticket, and Y. Kuga, A. Cimermanis), Studio Yu Madernieka (1911 – 13).

The war years he spent in the monastery (in Riga, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Sukhumi), traveled, visited in Novocherkask, Novorossiysk and etc.

In 1919(?) year returned to Riga and worked briefly as a teacher in primary schools.

In shows V. Irbe was involved since 1914. He organized several personal exhibitions (1923, 1932, 1934, 1936), and continually exhibited his work in the Studio on the street Brivibas.

In Riga we have organized two commemorative exhibitions (1968, 1979).

V. Irbe worked mostly with pastels, and it can shield the first konsekventnymi pastel painter in Latvian art.

Since 1940 he was a member of the cooperative Fine arts.

The artist died in a RAID on Riga from nechayny fragment.
